Traveling to Denver with Team Iroquois was a life changing experience for me. I was eager to play and couldn’t wait to represent my people. The pride I was feeling was indescribable.
A heavy disappointment hit me when I wasn’t named to the 23 man roster. I wanted to play so bad. I realized disappointments happen on our lives and we have to deal with it. I held my head high and thought positive.
I stayed positive and optimistic. While in Denver I received a call from the Rochester Rattlers to play in my 1st pro game. It was the moment I’ve been dreaming of since I was a little kid. To put on the #91 Rattlers jersey was the most uplifting and amazing feeling.
Out on the field I gained confidence in the fourth quarter. I got the go ahead assist and the secluding goal. It felt good to be a part of the Rattlers maintaining first place. Lacrosse is truly my medicine. Playing again is just what I needed.
To all you lacrosse players remember to never let anyone or anything bring you down. There are always other opportunities. Your lacrosse stick will take you places you have never gone before. Always stay positive.
