USA Drops Out of Bowhunter Cup

According to the IroquoisNationals.com website and confirmed by In Lacrosse We Trust sources, the United States national indoor lacrosse team has dropped out of the Bowhunter Cup. The annual event between the US team and the Iroquois team was set to take place this Saturday at HSBC Arena, the home of the NLL’s Buffalo Bandits.

Instead it will be the Iroquois team split in two and play against each other. In the previous seven games, the Iroquois had beaten USA six times.

The event is supposed to be a preview and tryout period for both teams getting their teams together. USA was recently taken over by US Lacrosse to run the team and they named their coaches as Tony Resch, Adam Mueller, Tim Soudan and Chris Schiller.

There is no word on how this will affect the selection of the team or even if it affects if USA will participate in the WILC next September. There were rumors before US Lacrosse took over the team that there wouldn’t be one, and things are continuing to look worse for what should be, in a perfect world, one of the better teams in the tournament.
