The Vermont Voyageurs won their first game this weekend but lost on Sunday, going 1-1 on the weekend and staying in third place overall in the Quebec Senior Lacrosse League.
Vermont trailed 5-3 after one period in their contest against the Sherbrooke Extreme. However, they held the Extreme to just two goals for the rest of the entire game to take home a 10-7 victory.
Kyle Baker had six points and Brandon Dube had five, all of his points coming from assists. Kurt Hunziker also had three points, all assists. Ethan Farrell also had two goals on the night. Goaltender Vincent Talbot picked up the win.
The next day Vermont faced the 9-1 league leading Kahnawake Mohawks. The Mohawks held the lead for mostly the entire game and won 14-5. Vermont scored two in the first and two in the third, being held to a single tally in the second period.
Kaniat Deer had eight points for the winning Mohawks along with Alex Kedoh Hill. They were without Ty Thompson and were still able to score 14.
For the Voyageurs, Farrell led in scoring with four points, three of them goals for the hat trick. Dube added three points along with Wagar.
On Saturday Ottawa travels to Sherbrooke and they will play again on Sunday.
