The New England Black Wolves invited one of the of the best players in the Candian Lacrosse league to training camp this weekend giving him a second shot at the NLL that player is Wayne VanEvery. Wayne is a lefty forward from Six Nations and a member of the Oshweken Demons. He plays his summer ball for the Sr. B Six Nation Riverman and suited up some games in the MSL with the Six Nation Chiefs. The past two summers Wayne has scored 174 points for the Riverman and helped them finish as runners up in the 2014 presidents cup in just their second year as a team. Also this past summer in three games played as a AP player with the Chiefs Wayne scored 4 points. In 2013 Wayne scored 9 points for the Chiefs in four games played and was a member for the Mann Cup winning team.
Wayne was first drafted to the NLL in 2010 by the Buffalo Bandits 21st overall in the second round. Wayne spent most of his first year on the practice squad but he did play in one game that 2011 season. The next year Wayne was not resigned but the Canadian lacrosse league or known by many as CLax came along. This gave Wayne the shot at playing pro lacrosse during the winter time. Since that first year in 2012 Wayne suited up for the Iroquois Ironmen taking the team to the Creators cup finals and coming in second. The next season he was traded to the Demons where he became the leagues all time leading goals and had the most goals ever in a season. Wayne had a another great season in 2014 being named a All star and again helped his team to finish second in the league after the Demons was undefeated for most of the year. Also Wayne finished second in the league in goals only be hide teammate Chris Attwood.
Wayne has also played for the JR. B Six National Rebels wining a founders cup in 2007 and is 6th all time scoring list and 1st in all time goals. VanEvery has also played Junior A for the Six Nation Arrows in 2008 . Look for Wayne to make a impact this weekend at Black Wolves camp.
