What Happens Now With Scott Evans?

In a move that surprised a few people this week, the Edmonton Rush released forward Scott Evans after one training camp session. Some observers were not surprised by this after a terrible playoffs with Edmonton in 2012.

Now begins the speculation of where Evans will end up. A lot of people have mentioned Buffalo, but I have a source telling In Lacrosse We Trust that Buffalo is not interested.

So, who are candidates to sign the righty shooter?

Philadelphia has a righty core of Dan Dawson, Kevin Crowley and Drew Westervelt, but if they want some more offense, they might look to Evans. Brendan Mundorf will be out most of the year, so they might be looking for a player like Evans.

Colorado is deep at righty shots, but that doesn’t mean they have the strongest personnel in the world. Gavin Prout is a great player and after him Sean Pollock and Derek Hopcroft are good. But then it is Mat McLeod and Jordan McBride, and it can be argued that Evans is a better scorer than those players.

Calgary, Washington and Toronto are pretty loaded at righty shooters and offense in general. Minnesota could be interesting. They have Callum Crawford leading the way and then second year player Corbyn Tao, Jay Card and then rookie Kiel Matisz. If they are willing to spend a bit on an older player there could be a possible fit there.

What do you think? Where does Evans end up?
