Buffalo Bandits General Manager Steve Dietrich today announced that the team has acquired two second-round draft picks in the 2014 NLL Entry Draft from the Philadelphia Wings in exchange for forward Luke Wiles.
“It was difficult to move Luke, but with the breakout performance of Dhane Smith and our belief that Aaron Wilson and Mark Steenhuis will continue to develop a great chemistry, we felt the opportunity to acquire two second round picks was a deal we believed in,” said Dietrich. “It also gives Luke the opportunity to play closer to his wife and two young daughters, who live in Philadelphia.”
The 2014 picks will consist of Philadelphia’s own as well as one of Rochester’s selections, which was acquired by the Wings in a previous deal. The acquisition gives Buffalo a total of five selections in the 2014 draft, including three in the second-round and one in each of the third and sixth-rounds.
