WLA Three Stars: Big Week for Jason Jones

Here are you WLA three stars of the week for the week of May 28, a week that saw wins for the Burrards and Thunder take home a victory each.

3. Jeff Cornwall—Maple Ridge Burrards

Cornwall earns the third spot on this list thanks to his four-goal night against the Maple Ridge Burrards as he helped lead the New Westminster Salmonbellies to an 11-8 win over the Burrards.

2. Alex Turner—Langley Thunder

Turner earns second star honors for his performance against the Maple Ridge Burrards. The Thunder got thrashed in their first game against the Burrards this season but Turner made sure it did not happen a second time. Turner posted four goals along with three goals for a seven-point performance against Maple Ridge. If Turner can keep up this level of play expect to see the Thunder rebound from their poor start.

1. Jason Jones—Burnaby Lakers

The Lakers kicked off their season with two games this week and they won both thanks in part to Jones strong performance in both games.  Jones had a three point night against Nanaimo scoring two goals and an assist but it was his seven-point night where he had four goals and three assists to lead the Lakers to victory over the Salmonbellies. Jones made an impression this week and will try to use this momentum to lead the Lakers to victory.
