The Wolves dominated the second European Lacrosse League tournament of the year as Duetschland Adler fell by a point and a half in the standings.The first game of the tournament saw the Wolves top Pietro Filipi. Sean Gibson and Klaus Hauer were out for Pietro Filipi, and they fell 15-7 after starting out the game with a 3-1 lead.
Game two of the tournament was between the Custodes and Adler. The Custodes took it 18-15 with nine third period goals. Petr Poupe and Radek Skala contributed to all nine goals in that last period while Dominik Sika held Adler to just one goal in the third.
The two losers Duetschland Adler and Pietro Filipi faced off next. Adler took it 18-8 as Filipi fell to 0-2. Jamie Plunkett led the team with six goals as they outscored Pietro Filipi 6-1 in the second period.
The Custodes and Wolves were the last game of the day as the Wolves took it 15-12. The Wolves scored four goals to end the game after trailing as they headed into the final minutes.
Sunday’s tournament kicked off with Deustchland Adler facing the Wolves as the Wolves won 13-5. Adler could not find a way to score more than two goals a period as the frustration of Adler became apparent with a fight between Plunkett and Jiri Loskot. The last game was between the Custodes and Pietro Filipi, with Filipi winning 14-11.
Radek Skala still leads the league with 34 points but not far behind him are Pavel Dosley and Petr Poupe with 28 each. Sika leads the league with a 77% save percentage. The next tournament is October 5th as several new players will be joining rosters.
