Rhode Island Kingfish the Newest NALL Team

The North American Lacrosse League has announced an expansion team in Kingston, Rhode Island today. They will be the fourth member of the league for the 2013 season.

The Rhode Island Kingfish will join the Kentucky Stickhorses, Boston Rockhoppers and Lehigh Valley Flying Dutchmen.  Via the NALL website:

“This announcement is meaningful in many ways, primarily in that the League continues to move forward in its expansion,” says Mr. Caruso. “We overcame significant obstacles since our inception last year, and played a successful modified schedule which concluded in April. We remain excited about the future of the North American Lacrosse League.”

The league press release says that they expect to announce more expansion in the future. The 2013 season, the real inaugural full NALL season, is expected to begin in January and for each team to have six home games, according to a story on In Lacrosse We Trust earlier this summer.

The team is expected to play in Boss Arena in Kingston. The Kingfish investment group an coaching staff will be announced soon, along with draft dates and the process for the team to acquire players.
