Bandits Extend Batson, Goodwin, Others

Buffalo Bandits General Manager Steve Dietrich today announced the team has agreed to terms on two-year contracts with transition players Kevin Brownell and Brandon Goodwin, as well as defenseman Jamie Batson. The team has also agreed to terms with transition player Mitch Jones on a one-year deal.

The contracts are pending league approval.

Batson, who was acquired in a trade from the Rochester Knighthawks on March 31, 2015, collected one assist and recovered 12 loose balls for Buffalo during the 2015 season. The Brantford, Ontario native has one assist and 33 loose ball recoveries in 11 career NLL games for the Bandits and the Knighthawks.

Brownell returns for his fourth season with the Bandits in 2016 after the former third-round pick recorded a career-high 19 points (6+13) last season in 18 games played. He’s played in 37 games for the Bandits over the last three seasons and has recorded 34 points (11+23) while recovering 142 loose balls.

The Bandits’ first-round pick (9th overall) in the 2014 NLL Entry Draft, Brandon Goodwin made his NLL debut last season. He notched seven points (3+4) and 17 loose balls in 10 games before missing the end of the season due to injury.

Jones recorded a career-high 11 points (8+3) in three games for the Bandits during the 2015 campaign. He has 20 points (11+9) in 10 career NLL games throughout the last three seasons for Buffalo and the Washington Stealth.
