Black Wolves Notebook: Excitement in the Air

There has been a lot of excitement around the New England Black Wolves lately, mainly because this coming Friday, January 2nd 2015, the New England Black Wolves will play their home opener at the Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort and this game will also be the first NLL game to be played in the New England area since the Boston Blazers final season played back in 2011.

The newest Black Wolves goalie, Tye Belanger took to Twitter to say that he is in the books, “My first weekend with the new pack. Great bunch of hungry wolves on this team. Jan 2 can’t come soon enough!” @NEBlackWolves.

Also on Twitter, the goalie-coach, Chris Collins gave a sneak peek preview of his new goalie mask, which looks pretty sweet. On Facebook, the Black Wolves page has been very active recently, getting fans familiar with the team by posting different players pictures with a short biography to mark a day closer to the season opener.

A countdown to game day has been formed by the team by posting a different players biography each day to mark a new day closer to the home opener, the latest one being the teams star player, Kevin Crowley.

Chris Sienko sat down with Sports Edge talk news 8 recently and discussed the challenges with taking a team who spent 28 years in Philly and now moving them to a new market and how he did the same with the WNBA Suns.

More talk took place about how pro lacrosse is not full time and how these players have other jobs but do what it takes to play the sport they love and grow it as a whole. Everyone is excited for the new NLL season and a ton of eyes will be on the New England Black Wolves to see what they can do in their first weekend of play.
