Bowhunter Cup: Fourth Annual Takes Place Tonight

The Iroquois Nationals are undefeated in the three year history of the Bowhunter Cup. What they have not had the opportunity to do is capture victory on home soil. Iroquois will get the chance to do so when they take on the USIL’s Developmental Team at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Six Nations.

The core of the Iroquois roster hails from Six Nations including Captain Cody Jamieson. The sniper led the Nationals to a 12-10 victory in last year’s game netting a hat-trick  and is more than familiar with the ILA floor having suited up for the Arrows Jr. A squad as well as the recently crowned Mann Cup champion Chiefs. Other Six Nations products featured on the Nationals roster include Craig Point and Johnny Powless.

Grant Catalino has been the standout for the American side during the Bowhunter series, including a four goal performance in 2012. David Earl of the Minnesota Swarm appeared for Team USA last year, however, the Notre Dame alum will not be in the lineup this weekend as he is currently in the midst of trying out for the Team Canada’s World Championship squad.

Face-off for the fourth edition of the Bowhunter Cup is set for Saturday at 8 p.m.
