Canada and Rival Iroquois Fight for Championship Appearance

Day Eight of FIL play and the games keep getting more and more interesting.  Today, one of the highest anticipated games of the FIL tournament will take place.  Canada and The Iroquois Nationals will go head to head for the second time since FIL play began.

On Sunday, Canada topped The Iroquois Nationals by one point and the game ended in Canada’s favor with a score of (9-8).

The Iroquois Nationals are seeking redemption against Canada and are hoping to be the victor of this matchup.  Last time, Canada outshot the Iroquois Nationals, but Team Iroquois had 11 saves as compared to Team Canada’s 10.  It’s been interesting to see how teams utilize the extra period to their advantage, and it seems as though the Iroquois Nationals have learned to capitalize on the extra time they are given on the field.  On Sunday against Canada, they scored 4 of their 8 goals in the last period.

Leading the Way for the Iroquois are the Thompsons, and Cody Jameson, although the entire roster is full of exceptional players.  As for Canada, they have a very skilled offense and defense. The game on Sunday was so close, as these two teams are pretty evenly matched in terms of skills.

Today’s game will come down to a test of endurance and defense.  Both teams have skilled offenses, so it will be up to the defense and goaltenders to stand their ground and prevent their opponent from scoring.

Don’t be surprised if the Iroquois Nationals come out on top, as they are very skilled in taking advantage of weaknesses presented by the other team, and since they lost to Canada, they will be fighting relentlessly for a victory.

The game is set for 7:30 MST.
