Canadian Lacrosse Notebook: May 30th

Tonight the Lakers battle the Excelsiors for the second time this season. Last night the Brooklin Redmen defeated the Six Nations Chiefs 10-9 to move to 3-0 on the season. The night before, Brampton fell to 0-2 after losing to the Oakville Rock, who won their first game since moving to Oakville.

Western Lacrosse Association

Last night the Langley Thunder defeated the Nanaimo Timbermen 7-5 in a low scoring affair. Tonight the Adanacs face the Salmonbellies. Tomorrow night Burnaby faces Maple Ridge while Langley takes on Victoria.

Curtis Dickson is dominating the league with 23 points while Scott Ranger and Cory Conway are tied for second place with 18 points apiece.

Quebec Senior Lacrosse League

Last night the Snake Island Muskies defeated the Capital Region Axemen 8-7 in overtime. Josh Sanderson led the Muskies with four assists while Thomas Jordan also put up three points. For the Axemen, who play in Ottawa, Jason Tasse led them with three points while Bryson Goodman also had three assists. The Axemen are second in the QSLL standings while The Muskies are in second in the TNSLL.

CanAm Lacrosse League

On Tuesday night the Tuscanora Tomahawks defeated the Allegany Arrows 19-7. Scott Johnston scored four goals with three assists for the Tomahawks while Joe Dowdy led the Arrows with three goals. The Onondaga defeated the Six Nations Slash 24-3. Lee Nanticoke had three goals along with Wade Bucktooth, while goalie Spencer Lyons allowed just three goals. Lastly, the Newtown Golden Eagles defeated the Rochester Greywolves 16-2.

Newtown is 5-0 and leads the standings ahead of the 4-1 Onondaga and Six Nations. Tonight the Redhawks take on the Buffalo Creek Thunder.

Junior A

On Wednesday night the Six Nations Arrows defeated the Saint Catharines Saints 15-6. Brendan Bomberry picked up seven points in the win along with top NLL prospect Randy Staats. Tonight the burlington Chiefs take on the Toronto Beaches.
