Chiefs dominate game four 8-3 to tie the Mann Cup

On Tuesday Night game four of the Mann Cup took place. Victoria came into game four with the 2-1 series lead and came into game four looking to go up 3-1 in the series. While the Six Nations Chiefs wanted to even up the series with a victory.

This game started off slow we neither team being able to break out early. At around the five minute mark in the first period Rhys Duch would score firing a quick blast past Chiefs goalie Brandon Miller to give the Shamrocks the early 1-0 lead. The Chiefs would quickly respond as Cody Jamieson scored with one of his patented twisted shots to tie this game at one a piece. Jamieson would continue to roll in the period as he scored his second goal of the game with six minutes left in the period to put the Chiefs up 2-1. With the period winding down Jeff Shattler would score to tie the game at 2-2 going into the second period. The Chiefs were dominant in the first period as they outshot the Shamrocks 20-11.

To start the second period the Chiefs took an early penalty putting the Shamrocks on the power play. The Chiefs would kill off the penalty and just moment later Cody Jamieson would score his third goal of the night to put the Chiefs back in front 3-2. The Chiefs would build on this momentum ass Colin Doyle would score from the point on the power play to put the Chiefs up 4-2. The two teams would continue to battle but the Shamrocks could not break through in the second. The Chiefs would go up 5-2 when Colin Boucher scored his first goal of the Mann Cup. The Chiefs would head into the third period with the 5-2 lead after a soppy period of play from the Shamrocks.

The Shamrocks would come out firing in the third trying to get themselves back in this game.  Tyler Hass would get a breakaway but a strong defensive play by the Chiefs prevented the goal and sent Hass flying into Chiefs goalie Brandon Miller giving Hass a two minute penalty for goalie interference. The Shamrocks would not be deterred as Jon Hartnett would score shorthanded to cut the lead to two making it 5-3. The Chiefs would respond on the power play as Stephen Keog continued his great play in the Mann Cup and restored the Chiefs three goal lead. Keogh would continue to roll in the period as he quickly followed up with second goal of the game to put the Chiefs ahead 7-3. With five minutes left to play in the third the Chiefs would seal the victory as Alex Kedoh Hill scored to put the Chiefs up 8-3. The Chiefs dominated game three and with the victory tie the series at 2-2.

Game Five of the Mann Cup best of Seven Series goes Wednesday night at 7pm.
