The Continental Indoor Lacrosse League is heading into its first bye week of the season and thus far, the season has been what was expected. The Chicago Outlaws and Grand Rapids Dragonfish are both in first place with a 5-1 record. Chicago leads the league with 133 goals scored.
Milwaukee is in third place by themselves at 3-2 on the season, and where they have struggled is goaltending with 81 goals allowed despite their 62 goals scored. At 1-1 behind them is both Cleveland and Pittsburgh who are tied for fourth place.
Colorado and Columbus are still yet to play a game this season, while Detroit is 0-2 and Lansing has struggled all season at 0-7. They have given up 137 goals on the year.
The next games in the CILL will take place on September 6th all in Pittsburgh. Columbus will make their season debut against Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland in their three games. Chicago also faces 1-1 Pittsburgh while Grand Rapids goes against winless Lansing as the Outlaws and Dragonfish continue their battle for first place.
Four teams will make the CILL playoffs and if the season ended today, Grand Rapids, Chicago, and Milwaukee are in while Cleveland and Pittsburgh will need to fight for that fourth seed.
