Imagine growing up a fan of a professional sports team. Maybe the New York Yankees, or the San Francisco 49ers, or the Boston Celtics. Then imagine being drafted to play for that team.
Insert Dhane Smith, who was drafted fifth overall by the Buffalo Bandits after growing up a fan of the team. “I’m very excited to be a member of the Bandits” he says. “They were my favorite team growing up as a little kid, having to watch my cousin and now getting the chance to play with him, I’m very excited.”
Smith played junior lacrosse with Kitchener-Waterloo and was a very highly touted draft prospect. “Honestly I didn’t know what to expect, it’s something I will remember for the rest of my life that’s for sure. I didn’t really know where I would end up but I’m blessed that I ended up in Buffalo”
Billy Dee Smith, a defender with Buffalo, is the cousin of Dhane Smith, and Dhane is very excited to be playing with him. “I have talked to the Bandits about training camp witch I’m really excited about but I’ve also talked to al ot of the players my cousin and some guys  I played Sr with this year, David Brock, Jay and Glen.”
