Let’s look at the statistics here, folks. The Edmonton Rush have already semi-broken an NLL record. In 1993, the Buffalo Bandits were the first team to ever record an undefeated season topped off with a championship victory.
Now, a dozen years later, the Edmonton Rush are looking to redefine NLL history in itself.
For one, the season has increased from eight games to 18 games. The Rush are already 9-0, halfway there. This would be the point of their season that slumps would set in.
On the other hand, whether or not the Rush go the whole length, would they win a championship game? The Swarm just won last night, bringing a new light to Minnesota. It’s turn-around time of the season.
The other side of the game shows the Stealth. They sit 3-7 and a very inconsistent performance. They recently moved to Vancouver just before the start of this season, and the lack of momentum could possibly be blamed on the spectatorship.
However, I believe the shortcomings are held to the responsibility of the team members. They need to come together and figure out what’s going on. To me, watching them this season has been torturous. They seem to have lost a lot of light in them.
I’m focusing on the bigger picture here rather than individual statistics and team rankings. I think a team can turn around at any point dependent on the players’ performances.
This is the time for the Stealth. The Rush are the team to beat. If the Stealth up-end the Rush, this would mark a monumental, mid-season shift in NLL play.
My prediction:
Stealth 11 Rush 23
