Gallant Staying Around With Colorado

Colorado announced three moves today including keeping veteran defenseman John Gallant. Gallant is the longest tenured player in Mammoth history and he will give it another go with a one year deal with Colorado.

Gallant, who is also a coach with the CILL’s Colorado Sabertooths, was rumored to be planning retirement earlier in the off season before he decided to try one more year in the NLL. With 190 games, he is the all-time franchise leader in this category.

“When you think about this organization and you think about the defense, you immediately think of John Gallant,” said Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett in a press release. “He is one of the most rock-solid, intelligent players that I have ever had the pleasure to work with.”

At 36 years old, the all-decade team member is also the team’s all time leader in loose balls with 873. Colorado’s defense is also reloaded with the re-signings of Nick Carlson and Ian Hawksbee along with former Southwest Cyclops (CLax) player Jake Crans as a non-roster free agent.
