Wings Look to Bomb the Stealth

The Philadelphia Wings (2-3) will look to get back to .500 and also get their first home win of the season on Saturday night when they host the Vancouver Stealth (2-4) at Wells Fargo Center. Game time is at 7:30 pm and the game can be seen live at www.youtube.com/thelacrossenetwork.

During the regular season the Wings are 9-5 against the Stealth franchise, 6-1 at home. Last season the Stealth won both meetings earning their first win in Philadelphia by a 16-10 score on March 9 and winning the season finale 17-13 on April 20 in Everett, WA.

The Stealth are coming off a 17-12 defeat to the Toronto Rock last night. The Stealth opened up quick  by taking a 6-3 lead after the first 15 minutes. That was the last they saw the lead as the Rock outscored them 14-6 in the final 45 minutes of action. Tyler Richards will probably get the start again. Richards was pulled with 9:18 to go in favor of Matt Roik.

The Wings are coming off a bye week after they split a home and home weekend with the Minnesota Swarm. The Wings will try to jump on the Stealth early and often as it will be 21 hours from the end of one game to the start of the next. This could be a great chance for players like Kevin Crowley to start getting into a scoring rhythm by going against a little bit of a tired defense.

The Wings signed veteran Roger Vyse to take the spot of Kevin Ross who was placed on the 21 day IR with a separated shoulder. Evan Kirk will get the start between the pipes for the Wings.
