Former Rochester Knighthawks goalie, Pat O’Toole is set to be inducted into the NLL Hall of Fame the night of the Knighthawks preseason game.
O’Toole is the only player being inducted into the hall of fame this year. He will be joining Russ Cline, Chris Fritz, Gary Gait, Paul Gait, Les Bartley, Tom Marechek, Darris Kilgour, Mike French, Tom Borrelli, Sal LoCascio, Johnny Mouradian, Tony Resch, Neil Stevens, Dallas Eliuk, Jim Veltman, Rich Kilgour, Dan Stroup, John Tucker, Bob Watson, and Steve Dietrich.
This makes O’Toole the fifth goaltender and the 21st member to be inducted. With 12 of his 16 years in the NLL being spent playing for the Rochester Knighthawks, O’Toole holds the franchises record for saves (5,756) and comes in second in NLL history with 6,464 saves in 204 games for his entire career.
He has made six championship game appearances and holds two championship titles as a player, one with Rochester and one with Buffalo. O’Toole became the first goaltender and 11th member to be inducted into the Knighthawks Hall of fame last season.
After retiring from the NLL, Pat O’Toole returned to the Knighthawks as their goalie coach. His successor, Matt Vinc, was the 2013 goaltender of the year. O’Toole has added two more championships to his name since he began coaching with the Knighthawks.
