Hartzell to Defend Hardest Shot Title

Major League Lacrosse announced who will be competing in the skills contests this season, that include the hardest shot contest, freestyle and the new long distance accuracy competition.Hardest Shot

Kyle Hartzell (Ohio Machine) will defend his last two titles in the hardest shot competition. Hartzell led the league in two point shots last season as well.

Steven Brooks (Chesapeake Bayhawks) is back for his second year in the hardest shot contest.

Jeremy Sieverts (Denver Outlaws) is back for his second year in the hardest shot contest.

Mike Manley (Rochester Rattlers) is a rookie and this will be his first time in the hardest shot contest.

Freestyle

Brett Queener (Hamilton Nationals) is last season’s winner along with 2009, despite being a goaltender.

Kevin Buchanan (Boston Cannons) is the 2010 winner when the event was held in Boston.

Mike Stone (Boston Cannons) will be in the event for the first time in his career.

Rob Pannell (New York Lizards) is a rookie and this is his first all star game along with first time in the skills competition.

Long Distance

Chris Bocklet (Denver Outlaws) leads the league in scoring and is currently a leading candidate for league MVP.

Brodie Merrill (Hamilton Nationals) is a defenseman with Hamilton, and uses a long pole.

Ryan Flanagan (Charlotte Hounds) is a defenseman and is making his second all star appearance.

Kip Turner (Chesapeake Bayhawks) is a goaltender, the second to compete in the skills competition.
