JR.A Lakeshores look to stay perfect against Brampton

Tonight in Jr.A Lacrosse Action the (2-1) Brampton Excelsiors host the Barrie Lakeshores (4-0). The Excelsiors will have their work cut out for them as the Lakeshores are streaking.

The Excelsiors are led on offense by Jake Weidner and Wayne McCann. Both of these players will need to be on their game and help spark the Excelsior’s offense. In net the Excelsior’s are relying on Ryan Kelly. Kelly has posted a 10.50 G.A.A but more disturbing is his .650 save percentage. Kelly will need to step up against Burlington who have shown to be an offensive juggernaut this year.

The Lakreshores are riding high to begin the season as they have gone 4-0 and have beaten the defending Minto cup champions the Orangeville Northmen. The Lakeshores offense has been a three pronged attack consisting of Kyle Whitlow, Daniel Craig, and Austin Murphy. Whitlow has 24 points on the season already, while Craig has 17 points and Murphy has 15 points. The Lakeshores have also got great goaltending from both Nicholas Meigs and Brett Kloepfer. combined the two goalies have posted a 5.25 G.A.A and a .836 save percentage.

The plan for the Excelsiors has to be to contain Kyle Whitlow as he has been the generator for the Lakeshores offense. If the Excelsiors can contain Whitlow they should be able to stop Craig and Murphy from finding open space. The Excelsiors will need to force the Lakeshores to take low quality shots and hope that Ryan Kelly is up to the task of stopping the Lakeshores attack.

The Lakeshores plan for this game is going to be to spread the ball around. If Whitlow can generate offense and divert the Excelsiors attention he will open up space for Murphy and Craig to get quality shots. The Lakeshores defense has been solid this year and will make the Excelsiors work for every chance they get and both Lakeshores goalies should be up to the task of stopping the Excelsiors.

In the end expect the Lakeshores to notch another win although expect the Excelsiors to put up a fight but in the end they will be overwhelmed by the Lakeshores offensive attack.
