Two days ago the Long Island Lizards claimed Justin Smith from the Charlotte Hounds practice squad.
This season Smith has played in five games for Charlotte and has picked up five goals. He also had four assists to up his total to nine points on the season with the Hounds.
Smith has played in Major League Lacrosse since 2005 with the Philadelphia Barrage. He has also played for Rochester, Washington, Chesapeake and Boston.
Smith scored a career high 29 points in 2006 with Philadelphia. Last season he played in seven games for the Chesapeake Bayhawks and had ten points. He scored 23 points with the Boston Cannons in the season before. He scored 19 goals in that season.
Tonight the Lizards will take on the Hamilton Nationals, where they can eliminate Hamilton from playoff contention.
