Denver Projected #1 in More Ways than Rankings

January 26, 2015

Photo Credit – Ian Neadle In both the USILA Coaches Poll and the Big East Coaches Preseason Poll, Denver U is predicted to be number 1 all around. Many of their players even make the all-conference teams. There’s more to the Pioneers that makes them so great. #GrowTheGame The obvious one is helping grow lacrosse in the west. Colorado has a huge lacrosse following these days, from youths to adults…

One on One With: Jeremy Noble

December 13, 2014

I got the pleasure of speaking with Jeremy Noble #35 from the Denver Outlaws about his love of lacrosse; his life; moments in his career from the time he started playing lacrosse and up to the MLL Championship game; and what he gives back to the lacrosse community. What made you decide to play lacrosse and were there any other sports that you played when you were growing up.  He…

NCAA Underdogs of 2015

December 12, 2014

What’s better than watching the top seeded team get upset? Or seeing a powerhouse ultimately come crashing down in the finals? Below are my personal predictions as to who has shots at seeing postseason action this season in Baltimore. I’m not saying all these teams, or any of these teams, will make it. I’m not saying others won’t. But based on underdog criteria I will outline below, these schools have…

Could Denver Take The Crown in ‘15

November 17, 2014

Photo Credit: Ian Neadle Denver has been knocking on the door for the last five years to the title game.  This season could be their best chance to raise the Championship Trophy.  How will they be able to get there? It starts with Wes Berg and the attack.  The attackmen that have been coming through the ranks of the Pioneers have done great things for them.  Berg’s 2014 season nearly…

NCAA Offseason: Denver Pioneers on Track for 2015 Success

September 29, 2014

The Denver Pioneers have a busy offseason ahead of them. Following a NCAA Final Four semifinal fall to 3-peating Duke, the team has the consistency and ability. Duke was a powerhouse in the postseason, having witnessed first hand, and would have been a big upset for Denver. Bill Tierney’s squad is losing a big chunk of its experienced roster to graduated seniors. However, a compliment to the college program has…

NCAA ACC Roundup: Another All Conference Championship

May 29, 2014

Following Duke’s back-to-back championship wins, it seems there’s a solid perspective on the ACC as the Power House Conference. I think that’s accurate. Lacrosse continues to grow from east to west, meaning younger programs pop up the further west one goes in the US. Mostly MCLA and NCLL competition other than the Denver Pioneers. Let’s take a glance at the season-ending records of the ACC teams: Maryland 13-4 Duke   17-3…

Game Notes: Pioneers Could Have Beaten Duke

The final score of yesterday’s bout was 15-12 in Duke’s favor. It was not until there were less than three minutes remaining in the game that they were able to play toss-the-ball-don’t-stall. For that reason, amongst many others, I feel Denver could have and should have won. Duke and Denver went back and forth all day while still controlling some possessions and producing quality offensive opportunities for both teams. The…
