Outlaws Face Confident Hounds in Home Opener

No disrespect to team President Jim McPhilliamy, but I think we all can agree that in a perfect world the ideal owner for the Charlotte Hounds would be Montgomery Burns if not just for the fact that he could say “release the hounds” before every game. Luckily for Charlotte they don’t need a cartoon tycoon to motivate them to score goals. The Hounds will visit the Mile High City…

Machine Notes: Ohio Needs to Get Ball to the “Hot Hands”

April 30, 2015

On what a bye week looks like for the Machine… For us, having a two game sample to look over and review was beneficial. It was good for us to go back and reflect on where we are at and where we need to be heading into game three. It gave us time to talk with the people looking at our game from the outside, which was very unique and…

April 30, 2015

Victories over the Florida Launch have helped Chesapeake get off to a 2-0 start on the season as they get set to host Ohio in Annapolis on Sunday. Midfielder Matt Mackrides caught fire last Sunday against the Launch, tallying four goals and adding three assists for seven points. His feeding ability as well as stellar…

April 29, 2015

New England professional lacrosse has taken a hit in the past few days as Black Wolves transition man Andrew Suitor tore his ACL. Major League Lacrosse Three Stars: Week Three

April 28, 2015

A busy Sunday of Major League Lacrosse action saw three close games that were all decided by four points or less. There was tremendous play across the board. Here’s my three stars of the weekend.    3. P.T. Ricci (Florida) – 1 goal, 1 assist, 9 groundballs This is an out-of-the-box selection for the weekend’s No. 3 star, but look at P.T. Ricci’s stat line and it’s hard to argue….

MLL Power Rankings: Week Three

April 28, 2015

When you sit back and think about it MLL is more of an “any given Sunday” type of league than the NFL. If you’re a team that wants to get a runs for its money than the competition in MLL is for you. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Week 3 were two Week 2 rematches, completing two home-and-home series as Chesapeake took on Florida in Annapolis, and Rochester visited…

April 28, 2015

Week three provided some intriguing storylines as well as entertaining games.  Chesapeake won its one hundredth game, the first MLL team to reach this milestone.  Florida attempted a comeback in this game with backup goalie Adam Fullerton but fell short.  The loss leaves the Launch 0-2 and with more questions now than ever before.  Boston almost failed in their comeback bid and their hundred victory milestone must wait till next…

McDaniels: New York Domination

April 28, 2015

After three weeks, the one absolute in Major League Lacrosse is New York is by far the best team in the league. For the first time in the early season, they had to grind out a win against Rochester, but the balance on offense has been impressive. The Lizards are spreading the ball well and have 12 different players score at least a goal. They also have three players with…

Lizards Win Third Straight

April 27, 2015

Paul Rabil’s five-point game (four goals, one assist) propelled the New York Lizards to a 14-12 victory over the Rochester Rattlers on Sunday afternoon at James M. Shuart Stadium. Rabil, a seven-time Major League Lacrosse (MLL) All-Star, had arguably his finest game as a Lizard, mixing crisp passing with fancy footwork and smart shot selection. Rabil was nearly unstoppable, but Rob Pannell (three goals, one assist), Matt Gibson (two goals,…

April 27, 2015

The Charlotte Hounds earned their first victory of 2015 on Sunday afternoon, topping the Boston Cannons 12-11 in overtime. The win marks just the second time in team history the Hounds have beaten the Cannons, and the first time they’ve done so in Boston.
