The Florida Launch (1-1) round out their three game home stand this Saturday, May 10 at 7:00 pm at FAU Stadium as the Launch play host to the Ohio Machine (1-1). Head coach Stan Ross and company are coming off its first win in franchise history in a strong showing against last year’s runner-up on Championship weekend, Charlotte Hounds.
In addition to the win, Garrett Thul was named the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts vs the Hounds. Thul notched a hat-trick in his first game with the Launch after missing Week 1. “This was a great way to start my season with the Launch and a good first weekend on the field with the guys,” said Thul after the big win. “There is a lot of talent on our roster to build upon and I look forward to seeing where this season takes us.”
Ohio Machine head coach Bear Davis looks to get his guys back into the winner’s circle following a tough loss out in Denver last Sunday. Ohio Machine midfielder Jake Bernhardt returns to his hometown for the first time this year.
Syracuse alum and longtime great Casey Powell has been nothing short of his old self. Casey leads the league in assists with six and points with 11.
As the Launch close their home stand, the Machine will be looking to host their first home game of the 2014 season with a winning record, something they didn’t do once last year after a rocky start. The Launch and Machine each share wins this season against Charlotte and losses against Denver.
