Lizards Look to Start A Streak, Take on Nationals

Playoff implications are running wild in this game, as with a win for the Long Island Lizards they knock out the Charlotte Hounds, and also the Hamilton Nationals.

Hamilton needs this game if they want to stay alive in the playoff race with their 3-7 record.

The Nationals split last weekend with the Ohio Machine, where Garrett Billings got the honor of being named the league’s offensive player of the week. They need another big performance from him.

With a win the Lizards can distance themselves a bit from the Boston Cannons by knocking them back an entire game, along with Long Island owning the tiebreaker. The Lizards also want to separate from fourth place Rochester, who owns the tiebreaker on the Lizards.

CJ Costabile of the Lizards was the rookie of the week last week, when the Lizards defeated Boston. They will need him to play as well as he did last week on defense, holding Paul Rabil to zero goals.

In net, Drew Adams fourth in the league in goalie statistics and has the third most minutes played of any goalie in the league. Meanwhile, Brett Queener has gotten the bulk of the time in net for Hamilton but we will also see Scott Rodgers.

For the Lizards, Jordan Levine was put on their did not report list and they claimed Justin Smith from the Charlotte practice squad.
