Lizards Snap Losing Streak, Cannons Fall Again

One of the biggest problems for the Boston Cannons this season has been their inability to hold second half leads. Last night, it was the same problem in their 14-11 loss to the Long Island Lizards.

Matt Poskay scored five goals for the Cannons, but the story of the game was the dominating faceoff performance from the Lizards.

Greg Gerenlian went 19 for 28 in the face off dot and also scored two goals off of the face off.

The Lizards out scored the Cannons 10-5 in the second half, and that is why they won the game. To dominate in second half scoring and in face offs is the recipe for a win.

The Lizards and Cannons are now tied for third in the MLL playoff race, behind the first place Chesapeake Bayhawks and the second place Denver Outlaws.

The Cannons return home this Thursday to face the Denver Outlaws while the Lizards take on the Hamilton Nationals.
