Tonight the Six Nations Chiefs will attempt to take a 3-2 series lead and build off their game four domination of the Shamrocks where they defeated them 12-6. The Chiefs will look to build on their momentum and try to put the Shamrocks one step closer to elimination.
For the Chiefs they fixed the problem they had in game three as they got out to four goal lead but let off the gas pedal and let the Shamrocks sneak their way back into the game where they eventually won in overtime. Game five was a different story as the Chiefs jumped out to a three goal and then obliterated the Shamrocks in the second period scoring seven goals. The Chiefs need to continue this type of play in game five as they have proven that they can get out in front quickly they just need to be able to continue to build on their early leads as they did on Tuesday night.
For the Shamrocks after game four they need to be tighter defensively. The Shamrocks need to avoid getting down early as the Chiefs can take control of a game quickly with just a small opening. The Shamrocks need to strike early in game five and force the Chiefs onto their back foot. If the Shamrocks can slow down the Chiefs offence and get Corey Small and Rhys Duch going they will win game five.
In the end game five will come down to which offence is able to control the game as both team’s offences are stellar. My prediction is that the Shamrocks will bounce back in game five as they will outlast the Chiefs and win once again in overtime.
