MILA Weekend Preview

The MILA will have its second weekend of the season, with many teams playing their first game. With four games on the schedule it should be an exciting and eye opening weekend in the league.

We start with Chicago, who is coming off an exhibition victory over the US Development team. They start their season off against the Milwaukee Marauders. Milwaukee finished last season with the worst record in the league, so they are hoping things go a tad bit better this season. However Chicago has to be seen as the favorite going into this one.

At 7:30 two teams launch their MILA franchises as the Madison Capitals take on the Minnesota Jaxx. Seeing how this two teams match up against each other should be interesting as we haven’t seen either play yet. Of course in this league any team can finish on top, so watch out for both these teams.

The league champion Grand Rapids Dragonfish have their home opener tomorrow when they take on Columbus. Columbus is coming off a 21 to 34 loss to the Pittsburgh Octane so their hoping to get things back on the right track. Grand Rapids is currently 1-0 after a victory over Cleveland. They hope to make this a win streak to start their journey to repeat as champions.

The last game of the season features two new teams that started play last week. The Octane, fresh off that victory over Columbus, take on the Cleveland Demons. Cleveland, already 0-1, is seeking their first franchise victory.

All games take place Saturday, August 11th. Check back to the site after the weekend to see all the scores from this weekend’s MILA action.
