MLL: Cannons Battle Rattlers in Atlanta

Both the Boston Cannons and Rochester Rattlers have been team of disappointment in 2013. The Cannons are just two years removed from their championship run while the Rattlers barely missed the 2012 playoffs.

Instead, Rochester is 2-3 and Boston is 1-4. Last week the Rattlers defeated the 0-5 Ohio Machine while the Cannons were blown out against the 5-0 Denver Outlaws.

This game will be the first ever professional lacrosse game of any kind in Atlanta, a game to test out the market for future teams. Last season these two teams split with each team getting a win at their home field. This game counts as a home game for the Rattlers, despite it being neutral site.

Jordan Burke was back for Boston last week but it made little difference seeing they gave up 22 goals. Meanwhile, Rochester’s game was very low scoring as a 9-6 victory.

The Cannons allowed a season high 36 shots on goal against Denver, and if they want to beat a Rochester team looking to go on a run they can’t allow that. Despite their record, the Rattlers have some pure scorers. That being said, they probably won’t score 22 goals. If the Cannons can score north of 12 they should be able to win.
