MLL in the NCAA: Nats Prospects Lead College Teams

In this week’s MLL in the NCAA check in, draft picks from the Boston Cannons and Hamilton Nationals are profiled.

Senior – Scott Ratliff – LSM – Boston Cannons – Loyola Greyhounds

The Cannon’s ninth overall pick in this year’s collegiate draft had an outstanding performance on Saturday versus Fairfield (6-5) in ECAC league action.  The Marietta, GA native tallied four goals in a 13-7 victory over the Stags.  Ratliff also had caused four turnovers and picked up three groundballs for Loyola (9-2).  

The LSM and team co-captain has 14 points (11G, 3A) this season and will look to continue his scoring ways when the Greyhounds play their final regular season game on April 13th versus Denver (9-2).  

Senior – Garrett Thul – Attack – Hamilton Nationals – Army Black Knights

Army’s Garret Thul scored three times for the Black Knights (6-4) in a 9-8 loss to Bucknell (10-2) on Saturday in a Patriot League matchup.  The Hamilton Nationals 21st overall pick in 2013 has 32 goals and five assists this season.  The Flemington, NJ native sits second in team scoring and has started all ten games for Army this season.

Next action for the Black Knights is April 13th in the annual Army – Navy (3-8) game. Game time 2 PM.

Senior – John Haus – Midfield – Hamilton Nationals – Maryland Terps

In this year’s collegiate draft, John Haus was picked 15th overall by the Hamilton Nationals.  The

University of Maryland (8-1) middy picked up two goals and one assist in an 11-8 win over Navy on Friday night.

Haus has played nine games this season, registering 14 goals and nine assists for 23 points.  In 61 games over his four year career at Maryland, he has 98 points.

Maryland will look to remain atop the league rankings when they host Johns Hopkins (6-4) at 3 PM on April 13th.

Senior – Lee Coppersmith – Midfield – Boston Cannons – Johns Hopkins Blue Jays

The Boston Cannon’s third round (22nd overall) pick in 2013 collected one assist in a 10-9 loss to Albany (8-3) at Homewood Field in Baltimore, MD on Friday night.  Coppersmith registered one shot and picked up one groundball for the Blue Jays (6-4).

In 2013, the Boca Raton, FL native has played nine games, scoring nine goals and six assists.
