MSL Begins Playoff Push

Peterborough @ Kitchener – Waterloo: July 23rd/13 – 8 PM

The Lakers (11-6) travel to Kitchener – Waterloo to face the Kodiaks (8-9-1) on tonight in a rematch of last Thursdays matchup which saw KW defeat the Lakers at home 13-12 in OT.  The KW Kodiaks now have a 2-1 season series advantage versus the second place Lakers.

Look for another tight game between these two teams as the last two games were one goal differences. It will be key for the Lakers to maintain a lead if they can gain one as they gave up an 11-7 advantage late in the third period last Thursday.

Oakville @ Brooklin: July 24th/13 – 8 PM  – Brooklin @ Oakville: July 25th/13 – 8 PM

The last placed Oakville Rock (2-13-1) are struggling this season as they are on an eight game losing streak with their last victory coming June 19th over Brooklin by a score of 7-6 in OT.  Oakville will hope to find another win when they take on those same Redmen (10-7-1) on Wednesday and Thursday in back to back games.

The Rock will be playing for pride as they are not able to qualify for playoffs where as the Redmen are looking to move past the Lakers into second place with a victory Wednesday night.

Kitchener – Waterloo @ Brampton: July 25th – 8 PM

The KW Kodiaks travel to Brampton to take on the sixth placed Excelsiors (5-14) on Thursday night at the Powerade Centre.  Brampton is coming off a big 10-7 win over Oakville last night to separate themselves from the Rock in last place.

KW is leading the season series 2-1 thus far however, Brampton will look to even that series in their last game of the season on Thursday night.

Six Nations @ Peterborough:  July 25th – 8 PM

The Lakers host the Six Nations Chiefs (15-2-1) on Thursday and will look to earn their second win of the season versus the Chiefs who hold a 2-1 season series lead.  The Lakers sit second in standings however cannot reach the Chiefs who have secured first place for the playoffs.

This game will be a sure test of whether or not the Lakers will be able to compete with the Chiefs if they meet in the league finals.
