This week we have some movement and it might be a bit surprising. How could a winless team rank higher than a team with two wins? Easy. The winless team has lost three and the two win team has lost four, and will be in the playoffs.
1. Boston Rockhoppers 6-1
Alright, this won’t be changing anytime soon. Boston is destroying teams in this league because their transition can’t be defended at this level. If teams are going to continue to allow them these chances then they will not lose again this season or in the playoffs. Their defense plays defense (a rarity now) and they don’t take penalties. That’s the recipe for victory in this league right now.
2. Baltimore Bombers 4-3
Don’t let Baltimore fool you, they’re over .500 but it’s not all rainbows there right now. The offense is struggling to get good shots because players who are not Andrew Wasik are shooting. They need to get him to shoot from the left and the defense needs to help their goalies a little bit. Their defense is not defending the perimeter well right now at all.
3. Rhode Island Kingfish 0-3
We haven’t seen Rhode Island in a while, so we forget they haven’t exactly laid down this year. They played Kentucky and Baltimore tough, and for their last game against Boston they added Justin Otto and James Synowiez.
4. Kentucky Stickhorses 2-5
Could things be worse in Kentucky? Yeah, they could have a goalie who was going to let Boston score on every transition chance. Other than that, nothing could be worse. They turned the ball over 22 times and allowed Boston to shoot over 60 times, and somehow Patrick Crosby kept the Stickhorses in a three goal game, even though they would lose. Kentucky needs to defend their crease if they have any hope to win again.
