The National Lacrosse League announced that Colorado Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett has been named the Chairperson of the league’s Board of Governors. As such, his responsibilities include serving in a consultative role to NLL Commissioner George Daniel and evaluating new business and strategic opportunities for the league as a whole.
“I am flattered that my peers have elected me to represent the NLL in this capacity,†said Govett. “As the Chairperson, my goal is to strengthen all nine franchises and ensure the long-term vitality of the oldest and most respected professional lacrosse league in the world.â€
Govett will maintain his current role with the Mammoth during his tenure as Chairperson.
The Board of Governors elects a new chairperson and vice-chairperson annually. Govett’s league position was formerly held by Minnesota Swarm owner and president John Arlotta.
