This Wednesday, the Quinnipiac Bobcats will make the short trip from Hamden to Hartford, Connecticut to take on the Hartford Hawks in midweek collegiate lacrosse action. Both teams are currently sitting one game below .500 and could each even out their record with a win come Wednesday.
Hartford is coming off of a tough 10-11 loss against Siena this past Saturday, a game that saw four overtimes and undoubtedly fatigued much of the roster. This was their second loss in a row, while the Bobcats also lost a hard fought game against Harvard last week, falling 8-10.
Offensively, both teams are fairly weak, but Hartford does control the attack by the slightest of margins. The Hawks currently have 53 goals on the season, while the Bobcats are sitting at just 30 goals. While goal scoring has been in Hartford’s favor, they have struggled with turnovers this season. At 74, Hartford has almost 30 more turnovers than Quinnipiac, who is currently enjoying just 47 turnovers on the season.
Wednesday’s game will by no means be an epic battle between two lacrosse powerhouses, but is an important game for each team all the same. A loss for either team here could spell out missed opportunities when it comes to the playoffs later on this season.
Tomorrow’s game will take place at 4 pm in West Hartford, Connecticut.
