NCAA Preview: Pioneers Hope to Triumph UPenn in Philly

WHO: Denver at UPenn

WHERE: Philadelphia, PA

WHEN: Saturday March 1, 11 am ET

DENVER

The Pioneers are making headway early into the 2014 season. Coming to Philly with a record of 3-1, their offense has consistently applied heavy pressure against opponents.

In the game against Canisius, Denver recorded 39 shots total. Jack Bobzien, Wesley Berg, Tyler Pace, Erik Adamson, Connor Pagnani, Connor Flynn, Max Planning and Harrison Archer are all on good paces to continue their scoring efforts. Thus far this season, they have stepped up to provide Denver with points.

Denver usually has a strong, solid defense. They are effective in clears and creating turnovers.

UPENN

Against Saint Joseph’s, UPenn tallied 32 shots, 31 ground balls, and won 15 of 22 faces.

The Philadelphia natives also boast an array of offensive players, including Isaac Bock, Joe McCallion, Zack Losco, Nick Doktor, Will Laco, Drew Belinsky, Kevin Brown, Danny Feeney, Alex Blonsky, Pat Berkery, Chris Moriarty, and Jeff Sestilio.

Their defense is solid but inconsistent.

PREDICTION

This is going to be a high scoring and shooting event. Both teams are offensive powerhouses and merely adequate defenses.

Look for a road win from Denver over UPenn of about 14-12.
