NCAA Season Preview: THE Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes are gearing up for their inaugural appearance in the Big Ten.  They had a decent showing in the ECAC last season, ending 6-7 overall. Even with the loss of  two valuable seniors, Joe Muerer on defense and Greg Dutton in goal, the Buckeyes still look to the 2015 season with hope and determination.

The scarlet and grey have chosen their captains to lead them to victory this season, and the group brings a ton of talent to the playing field.  Seniors David Planning,

Rick Lewis, Evan Mulchrone, and Jesse King.

King is going to be the shining star for another year on the Buckeyes. His outstanding talent has contributed to a Gold Medal with Team Canada at the FIL World Championships in 2014. He has earned 131 points during his career at OSU, and will be joining the Rattlers in the MLL after graduation.

In addition to the experienced senior captains, the team’s Juniors are ready to step up and round out the roster.  Since all of the buckeye’s goalies have not seen consistent playing time, it will be anyone’s game to shine in the net.  It’s undoubtedly going to be a tough time until the team gets their bearings in the net, but their defense is top-notch and will be able to hold strong until the goalie is set.

Their first match is Saturday, February 7 in Detroit, Michigan.  The buckeyes are looking forward to meeting the Titans for the sixth time in history, boasting their 5-0 record over Detroit.
