NCAA: The Beasts of the East

This conference has some outstanding schools that will put fear in opponents.  Here are the schools; Georgetown, Notre Dame, Providence, Rutgers, St. Johns, Syracuse, and Villanova. Notre Dame was the Big East Champions.

Notre Dame has an aggressive attack style. They play fast and up tempo. If you are not aggressive bumping them out their defense strategy, they will hurt you. The way you can stop them is slowing up their attack.Score first, so you can control the tempo of the game.

Villanova last season had a player by the name of Kevin Cunningham that was a beast. He led the Wildcats with 41 scoring points. He recorded 20 goals and assisted 21 assists. As this season approaches, the Wildcats need to find a piece that could fit for this organization. That is a huge lost to this team, but no doubt they will have the same attack mindset as last year.

Senior Will Mangan was a force and a huge center piece for Rutgers. He lead the league in shots per game. This will be a huge loss for Rutgers. This team needs to find a midfielder that can score and assist at will. Losing leads is this team Achilles heel. If they do not find a solution then it can be a very ugly season for Rutgers.

Syracuse has problems outside of their players. Syracuse will not be hosting the tournament, due to leaving the Big East in 2013. Their only concerns will be staying focused and having the ability to overcome adversity in their new conference home. Georgetown, Providence, and St.Johns has to improve their defense. In this conference, players have to either defend or attack. For these schools, that is what they have lacked in previous seasons. If they improve, then we could put them in discussions of a title shot.
