NLL 2013 Cut List: Where The Cuts Play Now

We will be keeping up with all of the NLL players cut after they were released by their teams before the roster deadline Thursday. Here is all of the notable players without homes, along with where we could see them end up.

Angus Goodleaf (Buffalo)

There are a lot of goalies out there who are able to play a backup role, but over the years Goodleaf has been reliable as anyone in that role. A team who might need a backup if an injury happens to their starter could be Rochester or Philadelphia, and maybe a team like Colorado struggling with many same level goalies.

Brendan Doran (Buffalo)

A former member of the Swarm, he scored two goals in nine games last season. Before that he did not play in the NLL since 2010. Only team that would acquire him is a team that needs depth on defense.

Travis Irving (Buffalo)

Irving has been a solid, physical defender the past two years. Someone will likely make a move for him.

Brandon Francis (Buffalo)

Francis is a physical transition man that could go to a transition needing team like Rochester.

Wenster Green (Buffalo)

Green is very young so he will have more chances at the NLL. Currently, he will be with the Iroquois Ironmen in CLax.

Jerome Thompson (Washington)

This Syracuse graduate could be signed by an NLL team in need. If not, the St. Regis Brave  will be able to play with the Ironmen of CLax.

Martin Cummings (Washington)

Cummings has seen some action the past few seasons with the Stealth. They could sign him back if they need him.

Jeff Zywicki (Washington)

Zywicki has been a very good player for many years. A team like Philadelphia who needs help on offense could make a move for him, but there will be several teams looking for his services.

Dayne Michaud (Calgary)

If a team needs some depth on the back end of defense then he is an option.

Steve Fryer (Philadelphia)

Kind of the same category as Goodleaf, except teams would probably want Goodleaf more.  Fryer has seen time in the WLA with Langley, but overall he is what he is.

Ian Poole (Colorado)

Experts have said that Poole will be an NLL defender at some point, so if a team needs defensive depth or an injury occurs, Poole should be someone we see this year.

Jovan Miller (Colorado)

With still no regular season NLL games under his belt, it might be hard for Miller to find work.

Joe Wasson (Minnesota)

Falls into the same category as Poole a bit, but Wasson has seen some time and he had a shot to make the Minnesota roster.

Cody Jacobs (Minnesota)

If a team needs a lefty shooter, Jacobs has some NLL experience.

Josh Kacprzak (Rochester)

Will be playing with the Kentucky Stickhorses in NALL.

Ben Van Every (Rochester)

Probably won’t be in the NLL this season unless Rochester wants him again in case Henhawk gets hurt.

Nick Inch (Toronto)

Had a solid career with Minnesota, Toronto is just very, very deep.

Robert Koger (Toronto)

Koger will be playing this winter with the Durham Turf Dogs of CLax.

Mike Attwood (Colorado)

The goalie will be back with the Ohsweken Demons in the Canadian Lacrosse League. Not really an NLL goalie at this point.

Jesse Guerin (Minnesota)

Guerin actually played pretty well for the Swarm during camp, it wouldn’t be surprising if another NLL team gave him a shot.

Mike Teeter (Minnesota)

Will be playing with the Barrie Blizzard of CLax.

Aaron Grayson (Minnesota)

Should be back with the Durham Turf Dogs as well.
