NLL: Mammoth Face Struggling Wings

The Philadelphia Wings are coming off of a 20-11 loss last night to the Minnesota Swarm. Now they face the now-last-place Colorado Mammoth in Denver. Luckily for them, Brandon Miller will be back between the pipes after a suspension.

The Wings are in second place in the east still, but now they can’t clinch this weekend. Meanwhile, the Mammoth are just looking to stay in the playoff hunt.

Last week the Mammoth lost 12-11 in crushing fashion to the Calgary Roughnecks and sit at 4-8 on the season. Colorado scores less than any team in the west, and now they face a Wings team that gave up 15 second half goals. However, it won’t be Angus Dinley in net this time around.

Philadelphia beat Colorado back in February, but the Mammoth roster is now much different. They have two new goaltenders, Tye Belanger and Dan Lewis, and the Mammoth also picked up Casey Powell. For the Wings, they have Brendan Mundorf back who scored two goals and two assists in Minnesota last night.

With a win, the Wings stay in second place. With a loss, they risk falling into third if Rochester defeats Toronto. A win can put Colorado a half game back of the Swarm but a loss would make it a 1.5 game deficit late in the season. Game time is 9pm eastern.
