NLL Names Week Six Players of the Week

The National Lacrosse League has announced Player of the Week awards for Week #6 of the 2013 NLL regular season which featured five games this past weekend.

Rochester Knighthawks forward Cody Jamieson won Offensive Player of the Week after helping his team get back to .500 with two decisive road wins, Minnesota Swarm transition player Tyler Hass was honored for his three-goal performance, which included the game-winning goal in overtime, while two Washington Stealth players, goaltender Tyler Richards and rookie Mitch McMichael, won in their respective categories. McMichael, who won Transition Player of the Week in Week #1, earned his second weekly award in 2013.

Offensive Player of the Week
Cody Jamieson, Rochester Knighthawks (2 GP, 5G, 11A, 5 LB): Jamieson recorded seven points (3+4) and two loose balls in Rochester’s 20-10 win at Philadelphia on Friday and nine points (2+7) and three loose balls in Rochester’s 15-7 win at Buffalo on Saturday.

Transition Player of the Week
Tyler Hass, Minnesota Swarm (3G, 4 LB): Hass recorded three goals, including the game-winning goal in overtime, and four loose balls in Minnesota’s 13-12 win vs. Toronto on Friday.

Defensive Player of the Week
Tyler Richards, Washington Stealth (1W, 6.00 GAA, .895 SV%, 1A): Richards recorded 51 saves on 57 shots and one assist in Washington’s 13-6 win vs. Colorado on Saturday.

Rookie of the Week
Mitch McMichael, Washington Stealth (2G, 4 LB): McMichael recorded two goals and four loose balls in Washington’s 13-6 win vs. Colorado on Saturday.
