NLL Power Rankings: Rush Still on Top, Calgary Up to 3

Week 9   Only three games and all decided by a total of 4 goals.  Another short schedule week but sure to be exciting

Power Rankings   Week 9

(1) 1—Edmonton Rush (7-0)  Edmonton was idle this week.  Host the Toronto Rock on Friday 9pm

(2) 2—Buffalo Bandits (6-2)   Buffalo is idle until March 8 when they host the Minnesota Swarm at 7:30pm.

(4) 3—Calgary Roughnecks (5-3)  Overcame a slow start and battled back to give the home crowd an 11-10 victory.  Calgary scored five times in the final quarter to get the win. Calgary will host the Rock 9 pm Saturday night.

(3) 4—Rochester Knighthawks (5-3) Falls 11-10..Started strong with a 5-1 lead after the first quarter. Rochester’s led 5-4 at the half, and 9-6 after three.  Then the wheels fell off as Calgary scored five times (4 in 2:57). Knighthawks will travel to Colorado to face the Mammoth 9 pm Saturday.

(5) 5—Toronto Rock (4-4)   Scored early and often and held of a late Swarm rush to win 14-12. Garrett Billings 9 assists led the way.  Teams combined for 100 minutes in penalties.  Toronto will spend the weekend in Alberta as they face the undefeated Rush on Friday and the Roughnecks on Saturday.  Both games start at 9pm.

(6) 6—Colorado Mammoth (4-6)   Mammoth were idle this past week and get back into action this weekend as the two time champion Rochester Knighthawks visit the Pepsi Center.  Game time Saturday night 9pm.

(7) 7—Philadelphia Wings (3-7)  Jumped out to an early 7-3 lead after the first quarter and it looked as if the Wings would control the game.  But the Swarm battled back to earn a 15-14 win.  Wings are idle this week and return to action March 8th against the Knighthawks.

(8) 8—Vancouver Stealth (3-7)  Are idle until March 8th when they visit the Edmonton Rush at 9pm.

(9) 9—Minnesota Swarm (2-7)  Split their games this weekend.  Saturday the Swarm fell to Toronto 14-12 but not after battling back with 8 goals in the final quarter.  On Sunday they continued that momentum. As they battled back after falling behind early 7-3 and earning a 15-14 win over the Wings.  Minnesota is idle this week and return to action March 8th a they shuffle off to Buffalo for a 7:30pm start.
