NLL: Rock Travel to Philadelphia

The eastern division leading Toronto Rock (7-3) will look to secure a playoff spot when they take on the Philadelphia Wings (5-4) Saturday at 1 p.m. on the Wells Fargo Center turf.

With a win over Philadelphia, as well as a loss from either Minnesota or Colorado, Toronto would clinch a playoff berth with over a month remaining before the post-season begins.

Philadelphia held a 2-3 record early in February before a three game winning streak shot them up the eastern division standings. Despite the Wing’s winning streak coming to a close last weekend in the form of a 16-10 home loss to the Washington Stealth, Philly currently sits second in the eastern division trailing the Rock by only one and a half games.

Kevin Crowley leads a balanced offensive unit for Philadelphia that features four players to surpass 30-points on the season. The Rock’s high powered offense will be lead by Garret Billings and Colin Doyle. The dynamic duo have combined for 123 points this season.

Brandon Miller has carried the load for the Wings between the pipes this season. Former Buffalo Bandit Mike Thompson was recently acquired before the trade deadline to provide Miller with some extra support.

Rock goalie Nick Rose has had an incredible season thus far, leading the league in both wins (7) and saves (412).

Saturday’s match-up marks the second of three meetings between Philadelphia and Toronto this season, with the Wings previously spoiling the Rock’s 2013 home opener in an 8-7 victory.
