NLL Statement on Possible Return to NY

The National Lacrosse League has released a statement following today’s announcement by Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano that Forest City Ratner has won the bid to renovate Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The winning bid, submitted by the development group led by Brooklyn Nets minority owner and Barclays Center developer Bruce Ratner, included plans to bring lacrosse among other sports to the remodeled Uniondale, N.Y. facility.

“We are encouraged by the plans to renovate Nassau Coliseum,” said NLL Commissioner George Daniel. “We look forward to continuing discussions to bring the National Lacrosse League back to Long Island where lacrosse has such strong roots.”
