Ohio State Battle Alumni in Fall Ball

The Ohio State men’s lacrosse team will be wrapping up their fall ball season this weekend as they get set to face off against a group of “younger alumni.” The official team name of the alumni will be the Classic Buckeyes.

The game coincides with Ohio State’s homecoming weekend. The classic team will also be featuring members of the 2003 squad that earned the Buckeyes’ first NCAA berth as well as the 2008 squad that was the first team to reach the NCAA quarterfinals. Finally, members of last year’s squad will also appear in the game as they were the first squad to host an NCAA tournament game and went on to be one of the last eight teams standing.

Among the most notable Buckeye players to return this weekend are Logan Schuss, Dominique Alexander, Kevin Mack, Greg Bice and Ricky Pages.

Building off last week’s scrimmage against North Carolina, this year’s squad will get it’s first real action with their projected squad at full strength as junior midfielder Jimmy King returns from tryouts for Team Canada. It should be expected that goalie Greg Dutton also plays as he was held out of last week’s scrimmage as a precaution as he heals an injury.

With stars as the players mentioned above, the Buckeyes will get a nice test from the Classic Buckeyes and it should be a nice sendoff for the team as they head into the winter and get ready for the upcoming season.
