Ohsweken Demons Look Forward to Two-Game Weekend

The first place Ohsweken Demons (4-0) will look to retain their undefeated record with a pair of games on tap this weekend.

The Demons will host the Niagara Lock Monsters (4-1) Friday night at 8 pm in a battle for top spot in the CLax standings. The teams previously met in a Week 3 match-up, with Ohsweken notching a 14-11 win. The Lock Monsters have not been in action since, while Ohsweken is coming off an impressive 18-10 defeat of the Barrie Blizzard.

Chris Attwood led Ohsweken to the previous victory over Niagara with seven points (4 G, 3 A). The Rochester Knighthawks prospect was named Week 4 Transition Player of the Week after racking up 10 points (6 G, 4 A) in the win over Barrie. Attwood leads all CLax scorers with 31 points in four games (15 G, 16 A).

Demons sniper Wayne VanEvery, who led Ohsweken offensively in 2013, has continued his scoring prowess into this season with 23 points while leading the league in goals scored with 17. The Six Nations product heads into weekend action as the reigning Offensive Player of the Week after a seven point performance (5 G, 2 A) against Barrie.

After clashing with Niagara, Ohsweken will travel to Oshawa for a Saturday afternoon duel with the Durham Turfdogs (1-4). The game marks the first meeting of the season between the two founding CLax squads. Durham has struggled as of late, entering the weekend on a three-game losing streak.
