The first full week of Division III lacrosse is in the books and teams are now starting to deal with the grind of two-game weeks that will last, for some, until Memorial Day. Below you can find all of the games you should be keeping an eye on over the weekend.

Three Ya Gotta See

  1. No. 7 Cabrini at No. 9 Lynchburg, 2:30 pm Saturday—Cabrini is coming off a statement win over Dickinson on Wednesday and could jump into the top five with a win over Lynchburg on Saturday. Corey Elmer is off to a fast start, proving that many were justified in picking him as the preseason player of the year. The Hornets are 1-1 after suffering a one-goal, overtime loss to Salisbury and then beating a solid Franklin & Marshall team. Both tournament teams from a year ago, this is the highlight of the weekend schedule.
  2. No. 19 Gettysburg at No. 4 Salisbury, 1:00 pm Saturday—One of the best North/South matchups you’ll see, this one is set up to be a classic. Gettysburg has pasted both of its opponents while Salisbury has done the same, albeit in two more games and with a one-goal win over Lynchburg already on its resume. Martin Manilla poured in 12 points in a win over Goucher on Wednesday and if he can stay hot the Bulletts could hang with the Sea Gulls.
  3. No. 18 Middlebury at No. 5 Tufts, 12:00 pm Saturday—The NESCAC really knows how to get right to the point, don’t they? Two of the three ranked teams from the North’s deepest conference will battle on Saturday with early season bragging rights on the line. Could this be a preview of the NESCAC Championship? It’s not totally out of the realm of possibility and adds to the intrigue of this matchup.
