Outlaws Acquire Greer, Briggs to Long Island

We’ve all been wondering why the Long Island Lizards protected Zack Greer, someone who has not played Major League Lacrosse since 2010. Today we found out, with him being shipped to the Denver Outlaws.

The Lizards in return get second year player Collin Briggs who played at the University of Virginia. Long Island also gets a draft pick from Denver in the 2013 Supplemental Draft.

Greer has played in the National Lacrosse League with the Edmonton Rush the past few years, and has been playing his field lacrosse with the LXM Pro Tour which was most recently in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Greer has played his entire MLL career with Long Island, but if he ever plays MLL again, it looks like it will be in Denver.

Briggs played in ten games for the Outlaws in 2012, and also in both playoff games. He scored two goals and picked up four assists in his rookie season.
